PUBLIC ART & COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Riverfront Bench Project
This project was done in conjunction with Artlink Contemporary Gallery and the Fort Wayne Riverfront Development organization. Old bus stop benches were revived by local artists. The benches were placed along the Fort Wayne Trails.
Bust A Move
This project raises money for Cancer Services of Northeastern Indiana. Breast cancer survivors and fighters have their chests molded in plaster and local artists decorate the plaster busts. These busts are then auctioned off to raise money and awareness.
Public Art
I have been lucky enough to have several of my works on display in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. The large metal guitar was a collaboration with Alex Mendez. The mural was a collab with Terry Ratliff & Theoplis Smith.
Youth Group Art Lessons, Elementary School Visits & School Demonstrations
I have become increasingly involved in doing 'Cupcakes & Canvas' classes with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana. I also visit local high school and elementary schools to talk about art careers and my job as an artist. In addition to this I often do demonstrations or teach a paint along during my visits.
Donations to Local Not-For-Profit Organizations
Numerous organizations have received donations of my artwork for silent auction and fundraising efforts. I have donated to the Salvation Army, Saint Therese Middle School, Bishop Dwenger High School, The Civic Theater, The Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Big Brothers Big Sister of Northeast Indiana, Turnstone, The Cinema Center, Science Central, WBOI, Wellspring Interfaith Social Services, Fort Wayne Police Department, and numerous other not-for-profit or outstanding institutions across the region and country.
