Dmitri Mendeleev was a Russian chemist & inventor. Mendeleev formulated the Periodic Law, creating a farsighted version of the periodic table of elements, and used it to correct the properties of some already discovered elements and also to predict the properties of eight elements yet to be discovered. He died in 1907. He was pretty cool & wicked smart. He went to Saint Petersburg State University, & more than 100 years later, I attended that same school. This painting is another piece in my genius series, a collection of history's most influential brains. Copyright does not transfer with purchase. "I try to bring some whimsy into the mundane. It is my hope that I force my audience to exercise their imagination, that my works inspire conversation and that they evoke joy."
